Every day, you handle, cook, and prepare food for you and your family. The steps you take can mean the difference between a good day and bad case of foodborne illness, also known as “food poisoning.” Take a few seconds to learn about food safety whether you’re cooking at home, dining out, or eating ready-made meals on the go.
Reporting to work at Gofer with a clean uniform and be sure to wash hands as soon as you arrive and often. HOT water is important and wash with soap and running the water for at least 20 seconds each time. Using Hand Washing sinks only. Clean hands when ever you touch a mop or other broom or cleaning the trash can or other beyond the counter area such as in the parlor or outside area.
Hair needs to be up and above neck line and tucked under your hat or visor.
Remove jewelry while at work
Use the available gloves when making Gofer Bites or waffle cones. Be sure to use the jacketed cones and don't ever touch the products directly
Gofer Ice Cream serves Ice Cream where we keep all refrigeration below 40 degrees and all freezers below zero degrees. If you notice a thermometer that is reading above these critical levels please notify your manager.

All foods should be kept off the floor and on the designated rack or shelf, or refrigeration or freezer unit in your Gofer location. If you are accepting a delivery from one of our vendors, be sure to store refrigerated items such as our ice cream soft serve mix in the two door refrigerator. The ice cream of course would go into the freezer or storage freezer as soon as possible.
